“Focusing on finished garments”

Hasegawa Corporation is a yarn supplier, which have been dealt with natural fibre yarn and fabrics, started to develop finished garments. The company is planning to establish new facilities for retail sales as well as manufacturing. It is also targeting to promote sales of knitted garments by extending the production capacity and holding their own exhibition in Tokyo.

-New facilities and exhibition in Tokyo-

The company was established in 1965. Their speciality is silk yarn made from carefully selected materials. Their fancy yarn is loved by luxury European and American brands and exported to 26 countries. In the last several years, they have developed facilities to finish all the process from supplying materials to sewing except for dyeing and they are still expanding the capacity by introducing new knitting machines. The next plan is opening a new factory in the site of 4300㎡ next to the office. The construction will be started in next autumn and they are considering to open a retail shop and a laboratory to do dyeing process in-house.

To tap a new market, the first exhibition “SILK+” was started. The yarn named “KOHARU” with the gentle hand-feel achieved by the company’s uniquely developed machine will be the main item followed by finished garments of KOHARU. The exhibition will be held from 9/19 to 9/21 at Chromatic Gallery in Harajuku. As well as this, they will promote knitted garments at Pitti Filati in next January. The company has been exhibiting at Pitti for 15 years and now they are trying to moving to the next stage with their knitted garments. The company’s CEO Masaru Hasegawa commented “We are planning to hold exhibitions twice a year. We hope to see many guests there.”
