Our “Hidecchi Mask” was featured in Textile News on September 16, 2020.
Mayor Masayasu Nakano of Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture visited Governor Hideaki Omura of Aichi Prefecture on the 4th and donated two types of masks as part of the promotion of the Owari production area.
The masks donated this time were manufactured by Hasegawa corporation (Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture) and Kodama keori (same). They aimed to improve the appeal of the Owari production area by providing masks that were produced in the same city from spinning to knitting and sewing.
The mask provided by Hasegawa Corporation is a 3D knit type using silk yarn. The pattern of the character “Hidecchi” that imitates Governor Omura is woven with jacquard fabric.
Kodama keori is a unique company known for manufacturing extremely rare gala spinning. They used organic cotton and provided masks made from gala spinning.
The mask production for both companies was commissioned by Ichinomiya City and the Ichinomiya Local Industrial Fashion Design Center (FDC). Mayor Nakano is also the chairman of the FDC.
