Hasegawa corporation (Headquarters: Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture), which manufactures and sells silk yarn and knit products, has fully expanded its mask business. They analyzed that will be a necessity throughout the year as a countermeasure against new coronavirus and prepared a mass production system. They have also developed a “summer silk 3D (three-dimensional) mask” for summer with a policy of differentiating with silk material and design with good heat retention. Actively work to develop OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) orders in a wide range of industries such as apparel and retail.

Silk has a natural moisturizing ingredient that is close to that of human skin. With a fiber structure that contains a lot of air, it is not easily affected by outside air temperature and humidity and has excellent moisturizing properties. In response to the shortage of masks due to the spread of new coronavirus, the company started commercializing silk knit masks from February this year.

They have developed various types of masks, and the number of items is about 20. By mid-May, a total of about 10,000 pieces were sold at direct sales shops and online shops, and about 15,000 pieces were sold by OEM.

Based on this sales situation, they promoted capital investment and human resource development specializing in masks and established a mass production system.

Of the summer silk 3D mask series for summer, “Tussah silk three-dimensional mask” uses silk that grows naturally in the field and mountain.

President Hasegawa said, “We have established a system that can mass-produce about 50,000 masks a month. We will actively develop business by cultivating OEM orders in a wide range of industries such as apparel and retail, and online shopping for consumers. “.

The company was established in 1977. They import various natural fibers such as mohair, cashmere, cotton, and linen, mainly silk, and manufacture and sell yarns, fabrics and knit products. In recent years, they have been working with OEMs to expand the items of their own brand “Hasegawa” silk knit products.
